Silo filters have fabricated body
which are full open from the bottom. These filter units are installed
directly atop the Silo / Hopper which needs a dust abatement device since
it is receiving loose bulk material either through a mechanical conveyor
e.g. Bucket elevator or Belt conveyor, or through a Pneumatic conveying
system. |
Air to cloth ratio is akin to the service factor
of the application. The more severe the Dust load, lower value of Air
cloth ration must be used. For fine mesh material, again lower air cloth
ratio must be used. In case the application is Pneumatic conveying system,
lower air cloth ration must be used. |
Most commonly used filtration media is spun bonded
polyester, with internal cage of molded plastic. However, other filter
media for higher service temperature up to 190 / 230°C are available.
Filter media with inter woven metal wire, or Carbon powder impregnated
for Anti static properties are also available. |
The filtration media used are Cartridge
filters of spun bonded media, pleated construction, in lengths of 1000,
1500 & 2000 mm. |
The filters are on line cleaned using reverse pulse
of Dry compressed air. The control valve used for delivering the compressed
air is a full bore diaphram type solenoid valve which are inherently capable
of delivering large volume compressed air is short operating cycles |
| Usually the filters are cleaned on line, row by row. However, for certain types of very fine dusts of low density materials, filters with off line cleaning design can also be offered. |
